Recycled Skateboard Goods

My name is Alexis. I am a skateboarder and woodworker. Born and raised in Queens, New York, I built skate boxes and ramps as a teenager. I started making furniture in my 20s. In 2020, I started making things out of skateboards!
As wood prices rose during the pandemic, I started using skateboards and discovered their natural beauty. I work with local skaters and skateshops to collect their broken and used skateboards so I can repurpose them and give them a second life outside the skate park.
Skateboards as they are made from quality maple hardwood. They are also nonrecyclable due to their various materials (griptape, glue, dyes, paint) So rather than letting them end up in the trash, I decided to collect them and show the world how beautiful skateboards are and what they can become.
